How I Spent My Summer Vacation…..
How I built a “no-code” chatbot in my spare time this past August
Those of you who know me, know that I like to play around with technology. My last few years have been spent working on AI (Watson technologies) with various different IBM customers. I went through my “chatbot phase” during the pandemic, and helped a lot of IBM customers and municipalities respond during the event. Many of them used chatbots to consistently communicate with the people in their communities. It was fun working with people and knowing that your work had a real impact on people’s lives. I called this my “chatbot phase” because it felt like all kinds of problems could be solved with chatbots and virtual assistants.
After that initial “chatbot phase”, I began to look at ML models and things more in the data science realm. That is where I have been for a year or so. Recently, I had a conversation with someone about the tools that we use at work. We got into a discussion about Slack, and how it worked (or failed to work) with other tools and information repositories that we utilize. My friend said, “If only there was a way to consolidate all of the best sources of information…”. DING, DING, DING. I snapped right back into my old chatbot mindset when I heard that.
