This bi-weekly newsletter is compiled by a team of IBM Watson experts (not just me), who are looking to share information on best practices, interesting techniques, educational sources and upcoming news in the world of Watson. We’re not ignoring Covid-19, we’re just focused on our work and making Watson easier for you to use.
New Capabilities and News
Watson Assistant Updates:
- Remove #sys-person and #sys-location references, these are being deprecated.
- API versions EARLIER then 2017–02–03 are no longer going to be available.
- Fine grained access control is already available in Tokyo and Seoul. Coming to US East, London, and Sydney on March 16. US West and Frankfort will get it on April 1.
- Service desk support is a beta feature. For more information, see Adding support for transfers.
Watson Discovery Updates:
- Element classification enrichment is being deprecated and will no longer be available effective April 6.
Watson Speech Services Updates:
- Updates to many of the base language models have come out — check for the language models that impact you. Many new Spanish dialects are now supported.
- Switches for “speech_detector_sensitivity” and “background_audio_suppression” have been added to the service — to help in tuning models to detect speech in…
